In 2011 Wirral EPCs offered a range of additional services, listed below, to complement the provision of high quality energy performance certificates ( EPCs ).
 
In 2012 Wirral EPCs will also become a green deal assessor as in April 2012 a new style of EPC will show quite clearly, and without any ambiguity, the improvement measures qualifying for green deal funding. Also in April 2012, an EPC will be required to define whether or not a potential solar PV installation would qualify for the higher Feed in Tariff of 21p/kWh and therefore whether it would be financially viable.

Floor plans
Floor plans can be provided in electronic format for inclusion in sales/rental particulars and for web sites. It is economical to take all internal room measurements at the same time as carrying out an energy survey, and so a complete floor plan for a property can be included with an EPC usually for an additional charge of only £20.
 

Ventilation surveys
Wirral EPCs recommend the use of Positive Input Ventilation systems or low maintenance filterless extract fans as solutions for problems such as a lack of cross-flow ventilation, mould, condensation, etc. and a full survey can be carried out for as little as £30 followed by a free no obligation quotation.
 

Mid-term property inspections

For landlords who would like assurance that their properties are being looked after by their tenants, Wirral EPCs can provide an independent mid-term inspection report. This can be used to gauge how tenants are treating their properties and will detail any issues arising mid-term with appropriate recommendations. The charge for this service varies but is typically approx £30.

 

Solar PV Assessments

Wirral EPCs can assess the suitability of a property for the installation of solar PV panels in terms of its geography, roof structure, etc.

N.B. Not all properties are suitable for a solar PV installation and it is prudent to have an assessment carried out BEFORE getting quotations for the installation. ( A forecast of the payback time, calculated in accordance with strict government guidelines, should always be included with any quotation )

This service is carried out free of charge and, in line with the mission of Wirral EPCs to promote only local enterprises, if, and only if, the property is suitable, Wirral EPCs will either

i)  Refer the householder/landlord to a specific local manufacturer who will provide a free competitive no obligation quotation OR

ii) Quote directly using a national MCS approved installer
